Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting kindergarten through fourth-grade students in a specialized communication disorder classroom. This full-time, contract position offers the chance to provide targeted support and individualized instruction to a small caseload of just 10 students, allowing for deeper connections and focused interventions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) endorsement
• Prior experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a special education or communication/disorder setting
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive educational environment
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with related service providers, and engage families as partners in student success

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with communication disorders
• Develop, monitor, and report on IEP goals and progress
• Collaborate closely with other educators, therapists, and classroom staff to provide a coordinated approach
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Ensure a positive, encouraging, and safe classroom atmosphere
• Maintain thorough documentation and comply with all state and federal special education guidelines
