Summary of Responsibility The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of machine tool equipment, controls (Fanuc, Siemens, etc.) and other components purchased by customers. This position works independently to ensure the highest level of quality and customer service satisfaction. What You Will Contribute Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all machine tool equipment and controls for customer organizations. Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine issues. Ensure proper documentation is completed and submitted to office and customer in regards to status of machine issues, repairs, and installation. Promote and perform preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment and conduct after-sales technical support and training. Possess and maintain an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company. Other Function Perform related duties as required. Qualifications & Competencies Five years’ experience with CNC machine repair. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other business programs as required. Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics. Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including flexible hours and frequent travel and driving throughout a regional territory. What’s in it for You Competitive starting salary. Able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting moderate to heavyweight material up to 50 lbs. with assistance from equipment or other employees. Ability to frequently use hands and arms. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work responsibly and professionally in dynamic job sites that may involve tight timelines, changing priorities, and interaction with customers and team members. Safety-sensitive Positions Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment. Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas. Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work. Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
