Building Attendant

Description *Part Time* The Building Attendant is responsible for greeting visitors, patients and residents of Sayre Christian Village and to help direct each arrival to the appropriate area for their visit to ensure the flow of daily operations is as smooth as possible. At times, this position is responsible for responding to the Emergency Response System and securing the campus for the residents who live there. Responsible for janitorial duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for ensuring facility/common areas are kept swept, mopped, vacuumed, dusted and sanitized. Routinely clean, common area bathroom facilities, and any other area in the Independent Living Community in accordance with Sayre Christian Village policies. Watches for and reports conditions that could result in injury or loss due to fire hazards, leaking pipes, spills, faulty equipment, etc. Records data, such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use by supervisory staff. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire, difficulty with unauthorized people or medical emergencies. Provide customer service to the residents and visitors. Performs other duties as assigned. Perform additional janitorial duties as assigned. SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to Identify and resolve safety concerns. Ability to maintain steady work pace. Ability to perform job duties autonomously. Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly and/or emotionally upset. Must be able to communicate in English. Detail oriented and possess ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities. Ability to use housekeeping tools and equipment. Knowledge of security operations. Maintain the professional and clean atmosphere of Sayre Christian Village. Comply with state and federal regulations and with HIPAA Security Policies and Procedures. Ensure proper use of all chemicals used in the cleaning process. Knowledge and understanding of accident protocol. Frequently communicates with employees, residents, maintenance and Housekeeping supervisor. Frequently lifts objects weight up to 20 pounds. Frequently remains in a standing position. Frequently stoops, kneels, or bends when cleaning residents’ rooms, bathroom and shower facilities and common areas. Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered room. Frequently works with laundry appliances that can reach high temperatures. Frequently works with chemicals that can be hazardous if not handled properly. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS At least six months experience in housekeeping High School Diploma or GED Physical Requirements to Perform the Essential Functions of the Job Treats all residents with dignity and respect. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines. Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and themselves. Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
