Medical Transcriptionist

Job Responsibilities:

1. Transcribes and enters medical data quickly and accurately while patients are being examined in the office.
2. Charts in real-time as the provider assesses and examines patients.
3. Reviews records using accurate spelling, correct grammar, and completeness before they are sent to the physician for review and signing.
4. Pulls up information in the electronic medical record for the physician to review.
5. Acquires and maintains a general understanding of medical terminology and billing/coding practices.
6. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Education: High School diploma required; students working toward an advanced degree in healthcare are preferred candidates. Able to type at least 45 words per minute. Strong customers service skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to multi-task. Medical assistant or medical transcriptionist are preferred. Experience: Experience working within electronic medical records is preferred.
