Position Summary

As a Forklift Operator at BWT Logistics, you will play a critical role in daily warehouse operations. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a sit-down forklift to move, stack, load, and unload materials and products. The Forklift Operator works closely with the warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory handling, timely order fulfillment, and adherence to all safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts to transport, load, unload, and stack materials within the warehouse
• Safely maneuver equipment in narrow aisles, tight spaces, and high-traffic areas
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues promptly
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper placement and securement
• Utilize forklift attachments as needed for specialized materials
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Follow inventory control procedures and update records accurately
• Collaborate with team members to fulfill orders and meet production goals
• Adhere to all company policies, OSHA standards, and safety regulations
• Support general warehouse operations as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment
• Prior forklift operator experience required
• Forklift certification preferred
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, safety standards, and material handling procedures
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and more with assistance as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment in varying temperatures and conditions

Work Environment

• Warehouse environment with exposure to moving machinery and forklift traffic
• May be subject to varying temperatures and noise levels
• Safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to safety protocols

PPE Requirements

• Steel-toe boots required
• Safety vest and additional PPE provided by BWT Logistics

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience, shift, and location where applicable

Schedule

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Mid Shift: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM
• Monday through Friday

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen, in accordance with applicable state laws
