Summer Internship

The summer intern will work closely with various departments within Meharry Medical College to gain hands-on experience and contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives. This internship offers an opportunity to develop professional skills, expand knowledge in specific areas of interest, and gain practical experience in a higher education setting.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities) Assign a percentage to each essential function (equal to 100%):

• Assist with administrative tasks as assigned data entry, filing, and organizing documents 30%
• Provide support for events, workshops, and seminars hosted by the college 40%
• Assist with social media management, including content creation and scheduling posts 15%
• Collaborate with team members on special projects and assignments 5%
• Provide support to faculty members in preparing course materials and presentations 5%
• Attend meetings and training sessions to gain exposure to various aspects of college operations 5%

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Prior experience in a related field is a plus but not required

Education and Experience:

• Varies based upon applicant age.
• Internship will last eight weeks.
