Remote Truss Designer
Are you an experienced Truss Designer looking for a long-term opportunity with a collaborative team and the flexibility to work from home? We're looking for a designer who is passionate about quality, enjoys solving complex design challenges, and wants to be part of a growing team.
What You'll Do:
- Design roof and floor truss systems using MiTek Software Suite
- Review blueprints, sketches, and engineering documents
- Create truss layouts and production-ready component documents
- Modify designs based on customer needs and building plan revisions
- Ensure designs meet applicable building codes and industry standards
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, architects, and customers
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of truss design experience
- Strong proficiency with MiTek Software Suite
- Knowledge of ASCE 7 and TPI building standards
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- CAD/BIM experience is a plus
- SBCA Truss Technician Level 1 certification is preferred but not required
