Direct Support Professional - 7am-3pm Shift

Responsibilities Provide safe and appropriate care for all Pocono Center residents. Supervise residents and ensure their physical, emotional and personal needs are met. Assist with hygiene tasks such as showering or toileting. Support individuals throughout daily routine, including joining them in community outings. Attend in‑service training programs to develop skills. Perform related duties, special assignments and projects as assigned by the coordinator. Benefits & Compensation Pay rates: Starting rates $18.00–$20.52/hr depending on education/experience. On‑call: $21.50/hr. Additional hourly differentials: 0.38 cents per hour for 40 hours of Time Off, 0.77 cents for 80 hours; 0.30 hourly differential for evening shift; 0.50 for overnight shift; 0.29 if active CNA; 1.00 for active NADSP Level 1 Certification. Day 7am‑3pm, evening 3pm‑11pm, overnight 11pm‑7am, 9am‑2pm, power weekend (40 hours Friday–Sunday) considered. Locations: Tobyhanna, Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg, Scranton, Dickson City, Mount Pocono, Newfoundland, Greentown, Cresco, Canadensis. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license required. One year of human service experience with children, adolescents or adults preferred. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand behavior management theories, and serve as a positive role model. Must complete required new hire orientation, possess strong passion for helping youth with special needs, and have a valid license. Physical Requirements Significant walking, sitting and standing. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements. Normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles. Must achieve 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches. Work Environment Work inside adequately lighted and ventilated areas. Temperature fluctuations may occur. Protective equipment such as latex gloves, face mask, protective eyewear and gown may be required. Possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
