Graduate Engineer I - Development Department

Grade 18: Salary Starts at $55,037.00 annually. Rate of pay depends on qualifications. The Graduate Engineer I in the Development Department is responsible for assisting in the planning, researching, preparation, and the execution of SAWS Utility Service Agreements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collects, analyzes, and interprets engineering, operations, modeling, and maintenance data in order to define preliminary scopes and requirements for Developer projects through Utility Service Agreements (USAs). Reviews plans, specifications, and reports; evaluates engineering reports and proposals, makes recommendations, and participates in negotiations to ensure Developer projects comply with SAWS Utility Service Regulations (USRs). Applies engineering principles, including water and wastewater engineering principles, construction practices, surveying, and problem solving to assist with developing engineering solutions for USAs. Interprets and applies city ordinances, state, and federal regulations, SAWS specifications, and related standards to USAs. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an institution accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License. Able to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
