Located in the heart of historic downtown Wakefield, The Mews is a high-volume restaurant and bar known for exceptional food, outstanding service, and one of Rhode Island's best craft beer selections. We're looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing teams, and is passionate about creating memorable guest experiences. Position Summary The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a busy, multi-area restaurant while leading and supporting front-of-house staff. This role focuses on staff development, scheduling, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, team builder, and problem solver with restaurant leadership experience and a commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality. Key Responsibilities Lead front-of-house operations during service and remain visible on the floor during peak business hours Foster a guest-focused culture that consistently delivers exceptional service Supervise, coach, and develop front-of-house team members Create and manage employee schedules Assist with training, onboarding, and continued staff development Support employee engagement and team-building initiatives Help coordinate promotions, events, and sales-driving programs Monitor and improve operational efficiency and workflow Address guest concerns promptly and professionally Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the restaurant Ensure compliance with company policies and service standards Qualifications 2+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience preferred Strong leadership and team development skills Excellent customer service and guest relations abilities Experience with staff scheduling and performance management Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, problem-solving, and follow-up skills Experience with restaurant POS systems preferred Knowledge of craft beer and the hospitality industry is a plus Self-motivated, dependable, and results-oriented Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays We are willing to train the right candidate with strong leadership potential and hospitality experience.
