The University of Alaska Fairbanks is accepting applications from qualified applicants for openings as a Police Officer with the UAF Police Department. University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Officers are responsible for the safety and security of campus students, faculty and staff. As a UAF police officer, you will be expected to address traffic violations, conduct criminal investigations and participate in community events. You will be expected to be knowledgeable about Alaska traffic laws, criminal statutes and UAF policies and procedures. You will be expected to maintain the high standards of the UAF Police Department. Minimum Qualifications This position requires a high school diploma or GED. Applicant must be 21 years of age or older, be a US citizen, possess (or be eligible for) a valid Alaska Driver's License, and have no felony convictions. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements of Alaska Police Standards Council regulations under 13 AAC 85.010. Position Details This position is located on the Troth Yeddha campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79 or 80, based on education and experience. Transcripts, certificates, etc., that support previous law enforcement experience should also be included. Departmental review of applicant materials. Only applicants that have submitted complete packets, which MUST include F‑3, will be reviewed. Confirm eligibility (US citizen, 21 years of age, no felony convictions, valid Alaska Driver's License, or the ability to obtain one prior to start date). Pass physical fitness testing.
