Senior Program Financial Analyst

Electro Optical InfraredSystems (EOIS) line of business within DRS operates in Dallas, Austin, Melbourne, and Cypress. EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro‑optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles, and airborne platforms. Job Summary The Senior Program Finance Analyst supports financial planning, analysis, and reporting for defense programs, partnering with Program Management and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate forecasting, cost control, and contract compliance. This role owns key program financial deliverables—including budgets, Estimates at Completion (EACs), variance analysis, and monthly performance reporting—while helping drive disciplined execution and informed decision‑making. The position also provides a growth pathway for developing leadership skills, including guiding and mentoring less experienced analysts, sharing best practices, and helping improve team processes in a fast‑paced, growing environment. Job Responsibilities Provide leadership for the financial and program analysis management functions of the company Ensure soundness of analysis, good business judgment, compliance with policies and procedures, adequacy of results and that all costs and reasonable fees have been provided for Establish, develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal and external customers Support negotiations with the government, industry prime contractors and foreign customers Conduct difficult analytical studies, monitor trends and be able to accurately interpret the results Support government compliance and audit activities Participate in acquisition planning strategies including definition of contract requirements and risks, and market research Support proposal preparations including bid/no‑bid requirements, cost estimating, pricing, RFP review, risk mitigation, and negotiation Program and finance responsibilities: Basis of Estimate (BOE) preparation; budget preparation, reporting and management; cost and variance analysis; Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS); estimate at completion (EAC); cash management/working capital; forecasting; contractual reporting (CDRL, EVM, cost and pricing, C/SSR); risk management; return on investment (ROI); audit preparation and management; and program review preparation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field 7+ years of progressive experience in a government‑manufacturing environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Strong financial analysis skills and understanding of financial analysis principles Knowledge of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the Strategic Guide Plan process, and ability to prepare program bookings, revenue, operating profit, investment and cash flow data Understanding of how job costs are collected and billed on all contract types In‑depth knowledge of FAR, DFAR, CAS, GAAP, IFRS, and SOX Contract compliance knowledge Developing leadership skills, including ability to mentor junior staff members Understanding of contract design and structure, including FFP, CPIF, CPFF, CPAF, BOA, IDIQ, Foreign Military Sale (FMS), International Direct Commercial Sale (DCS), and competitive and sole‑source procurements Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures Working knowledge of IR&D/B&P/direct sell and allowable vs. unallowable cost U.S. citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
