Summary

Manufacturing Technical Writer / Technical Writer develops and maintains digital manufacturing batch records and work instructions using the Dozuki platform. Translates complex manufacturing processes into clear, standardized, user-friendly documentation. Collaborates with Operations, Quality, R&D, and subject matter experts to ensure documentation supports safe, compliant, and efficient production.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain manufacturing batch records and work instructions in Dozuki.
• Translate technical processes, including chemical manufacturing, polymer synthesis, and purification, into clear step-by-step digital guides.
• Collaborate with manufacturing chemists, process development teams, quality teams, and SMEs to capture accurate process information.
• Ensure documentation meets quality standards and internal documentation requirements.
• Standardize formatting, terminology, and structure across batch records.
• Incorporate images, diagrams, tables, and other visuals to improve clarity and reduce operator errors.
• Support version control, change management, and document updates.
• Participate in process walkthroughs and shop-floor observations.
• Identify documentation gaps, ambiguities, and procedural risks and recommend improvements.
• Develop templates and documentation best practices for scalable manufacturing workflows.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives; PPI, Lean, or Six Sigma experience is a plus.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or another technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of technical writing experience in manufacturing, biotechnology, or a regulated environment.
• Experience creating SOPs, batch records, or work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to simplify complex technical information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience with Dozuki or similar digital work-instruction platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
• Knowledge or exposure to chemical or polymer manufacturing processes preferred.
• Experience incorporating visuals and instructional-design best practices preferred.
• Continuous improvement mindset; PPI, Lean, or Six Sigma experience a plus.
