The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Hourly/Non-Exempt: $17.93 Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Under the general supervision of a registered nurse, is responsible for performing moderately complex medical aide work. Assist nurses in obtaining reports and records form medical records. Performs nursing functions as appropriate. Assists medical staff in performing procedures. Performs related work as assigned and trained. Performs checking in and out of clients. Coordinates with the healthcare team.

Must have reliable transportation. May use personal vehicle for Center business. Must have a valid Texas driver's license, liability insurance, and a good driving record.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in healthcare work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. (GED) Experience and education may be substituted for one another. Attended and completed Medical Assistant Tech School and met all required hours of on-the-Job training. Must present a valid Medical Technician Exam Certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In the course of being employed, understands and implements trauma informed care practices.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of patient care. Skilled in the use of various equipment used in our Health Care setting.
• Ability to plan evaluate and provide patient care.
