Position Special Education Teacher Assistant Job Details Location: East Jordan, MI, 49727, United States Base Pay: $20.5 / Hour Job Category: Charlevoix-Emmet ISD, Site: Boyne Falls Industry: Teacher Assistant, Special Education, Student Support Employee Type: Non-Exempt Required Degree: 2 Year Degree Manage Others: No Qualifications Associate's Degree in a related field. Minimum 1-3 years of experience working with students, preferably students with disabilities. Job Functions As directed by the teacher, provide instruction in early academics, K-12 academics, vocational and employment, self-care, life skills, and social-emotional learning. Assist in preparation and organization of instructional materials. Implement behavior support plans for students with significant behavior challenges, which may result in the student displaying physically aggressive behaviors towards self or others. Assist students in meeting their immediate self-care needs related to feeding, toileting, and hygiene. Implement strategies to support students with severe language impairments, including modeling the use of assistive technology. Demonstrate the ability to keep all information regarding a student and their family confidential.
