MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Full Time Milwaukee, WI, US 23 days ago Requisition ID: 1240 Salary Range: $26.00 To $35.00 Hourly The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance of the plant and equipment. Pay (hourly position) - Depends on experience Benefits eligible - 1st day of employment 401K eligible - 1st of the month following 60 days of employment Sign on Bonus - Up to $1500 Responsibilities Perform electrical maintenance on all equipment Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment Assist operators when necessary Familiarity with NFPA 70 requirements Assist in the maintenance of spare parts inventory Assist in completion of special projects including equipment installation, machine and building modifications, and safety improvements Install and maintain electrical and electronics systems of the plant and equipment Layout and machine repair parts when necessary Operate typical tools to machine parts to exacting tolerances Diagnose machine malfunctions and make required repairs/adjustments to keep machine operating Assemble, align units and machines Make sketches of replacement parts Maintain a safe and clean working environment Available for call-in as necessary for equipment repair/building maintenance problems Follow AIB guidelines Perform other duties as assigned Background/Experience Minimum 3-years’ experience in electrical and mechanical machine maintenance Experience working with printing, extrusion and converting equipment is preferable Plumbing skills, including sizing, and installing copper, black iron, galvanized, and PVC pipe, gauges, valves, meters, and fixtures Experience operating tools such as lathes, drills, presses, milling machine, surface grinders and portable hand tools Education/Knowledge High School Diploma or equivalent, vocational certificate preferred Knowledge of electrical systems including distribution, circuits, wiring, fuses switches and relays Understanding of PLC’s, ladder logic, I/O and machine control devices Understanding of lubrication procedures including use of oil and grease Basic understanding of mechanical systems including belts, pulleys, gears, motors and transmissions Ability to read schematics and blueprints along with a sufficient understanding of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to trace problems when prints are not available Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and devices Minimum two years technical training Specific Skills Must be able to stand 6-9 hours Must be able to bend, twist, squat, reach vertically 3- hours Must be able to walk/stand on concrete surface 6-9 hours Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds, using a hoist frequently Noise level Noise level in the working environment is usually loud (80-90 decibels) The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles Hazards include but are limited to mobile equipment, powered hand trucks, gearbox, rewind shafts, pumps, gears, shafts, rollers, hot working surfaces, and hand tools in maintenance department.
