Maintenance Technician

Role Description The Maintenance Technician role is a full-time, on-site position located in McLean, VA. This role is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance, including diagnosing issues, completing repairs, and coordinating with the property management team to ensure timely resolution of work orders. Day-to-day tasks include conducting preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment, addressing residents’ maintenance requests, inspecting common areas and units for safety or maintenance needs, and assisting with unit turns and renovations as needed. The Maintenance Technician will also help maintain inventory of tools and supplies, follow company safety protocols, and support a clean, well-kept community appearance. This position collaborates closely with colleagues and residents to maintain a high standard of service and property upkeep. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in general Maintenance & Repair, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair. Hands-on experience with Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance in residential or similar property environments. Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance tasks on building systems, tools, and machinery to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Strong Troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective, timely solutions. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance trades is a plus. Previous experience in multifamily housing, facilities, or building maintenance preferred. Ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks safely in various weather conditions. Strong communication skills, customer service mindset, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
