Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a well-established, patient-centered specialty healthcare organization in the Austin area that is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join their team.
This is a full-time, in-office opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with patients and is comfortable in a busy medical office environment. The ideal candidate will be professional, personable, organized, and experienced with medical front-office responsibilities.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay: $24.00/hour
Location: Westlake/Bee Cave area of Austin
Position: Full-time, On-site
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors and provide a welcoming, professional first impression
- Answer and route incoming phone calls
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out and maintain efficient patient flow
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Collect patient payments and copays as needed
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and confidential records
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments, delays, and general questions
- Coordinate with internal teams regarding patient balances and insurance information
- Prepare paperwork, documentation, and incoming/outgoing mail
- Maintain an organized reception and waiting area
- Assist with basic patient rooming and vitals as needed
- Follow HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting is required
- Previous medical receptionist, patient access, medical front desk, or similar experience strongly preferred
- Strong customer service and patient communication skills
- Comfortable handling high-volume phone calls and multiple priorities
- Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
- Basic understanding of health insurance, copays, and patient balances
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems and general computer proficiency
- Ability to remain professional and de-escalate difficult patient or caller situations
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus
- Must be able to provide 3 professional references, preferably from a supervisor or manager
Please Note: This position is located in the Westlake/Bee Cave area of Austin. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to this location Monday through Friday.
