A pediatric hospitalist opportunity is available at an inpatient facility in Eureka, California, for locum tenens coverage. This urgent role focuses on providing care for pediatric patients, with coverage consisting of 24-hour beeper calls. The ideal candidate will start as soon as possible, with specific coverage dates outlined between June and August. Candidates must have a clean file, a current California license, and neonatal resuscitation skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Neonatal airway management, including intubation
• Management of neonatal air leak/pneumothorax including needle decompression
• Emergent UVC placement in the delivery room
• UVC/UAC placement
• Lumbar puncture
• EKG interpretation

Qualifications

• Active CA license required
• Board certified or board eligible within 3-5 years of residency
• NRP certification
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Working Hours

• 24-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 AM
• Coverage on specified dates: June 25-29, July 2-7, July 23-27, July 30-August 1

Skills

• Proficiency in pediatric intubation and central line placement
• Preferred skills include ventilator management and chest tube insertion for neonates
• Strong expertise in neonatal procedures and emergency responses
