Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist serves as the organization's primary HR professional, supporting the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding through employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and offboarding.
This position requires exceptional emotional intelligence, strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality while providing outstanding service to employees and leadership.
Essential Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for professional and workforce development positions.
- Create and post job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms.
- Screen resumes and applications.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings.
- Complete reference and employment verification checks.
- Prepare and extend employment offers.
- Develop relationships with staffing agencies and recruitment partners.
Onboarding & Employee Administration
- Coordinate and facilitate engaging new employee orientation.
- Prepare onboarding packets and employment documentation.
- Maintain confidential personnel files and HR records.
- Complete and maintain I-9 documentation.
- Process employee status changes, including:
- Promotions
- Transfers
- Compensation changes
- Separations
- Conduct exit interviews and provide recommendations for organizational improvement.
Payroll & Financial Support
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Verify employee time and attendance records.
- Assist with invoice processing and Accounts Payable support.
- Maintain payroll documentation and records.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Administer employee benefit programs.
- Coordinate annual Open Enrollment.
- Manage employee leave requests, including FMLA and other protected leave.
- Assist with Workers' Compensation reporting and claims.
- Support employee wellness, recognition, and retention initiatives.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and supervisors.
- Assist with conflict resolution and workplace concerns.
- Coach managers on employee relations matters.
- Support documentation for disciplinary actions.
- Coordinate annual and interim performance evaluations.
- Assist with Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and corrective action documentation.
Compliance & HR Administration
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including:
- FLSA
- FMLA
- ADA
- EEOC
- OSHA
- Assist with maintaining and updating the Employee Handbook.
- Participate in workplace safety initiatives and committee activities.
- Prepare HR correspondence, policies, employee communications, and organizational announcements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.
- Experience in employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, and HR compliance.
- Experience maintaining confidential personnel records.
Education
Bachelor's degree in:
- Human Resources
- Business Administration
- Psychology
- Organizational Leadership
- or a closely related field
Preferred Certifications
One or more of the following certifications is highly preferred:
- SHRM-CP
- SHRM-SCP
- PHR
- SPHR
Technical Skills
- Microsoft Excel

- HRIS systems (preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay
$22.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
