Shift: 8:30am - 5:00pm Pay Rate: Starts at $62,000 and can go up DOE Summary: The PolarisPeer Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the Polaris Transition Team’s programming, supervision of staff, assurance of quality service and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, including, but not limited to: Washington County Forensic Team, Oregon Health Authority, Oregon State Hospital, and all community agencies. The Peer Supervisor will oversee additional pilot programming expansions of the existing contract and ensure all required documentation and invoicing is completed in accordance with contractual requirements. The Peer Supervisor will report to the Director of Peer Support Services and be a member of the Polaris Transition Team (PTT). PTT will provide wraparound services to individuals who have been referred to New Narrative by the Washington County Forensic Mental Health Team and other community partners with the aim of assisting the referred individuals in accessing transitional housing, connecting to community based mental health or substance use treatment services, and resource gathering (food boxes, medical needs, etc.) to promote overall stabilization while navigating the legal system. The PTT will work with individuals as they are referred by Washington County who may be experiencing co-occurring disorders, and support individuals as they transition into becoming their own best advocate. Accountabilities: (Responsibilities of the job) Peer Program Leadership Activities: Maintains provision of person-centered and trauma-informed peer support services to all participants assigned to Aid-and-Assist, including pre-engagement and post-adjudication. Oversees and implements goals of existing programming as well as pilot programming expansions Leads programming in alignment with the Peer Services Vision and Strategy. Exudes and models New Narrative’s values and mission in all interactions. Upholds the National Association of Peer Supporters Guidelines for Peer Specialists and Supervisors, Intentional Peer Support, 12 Core Competencies of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and MHACBO Code of Ethics throughout programming. Provides minimum bi-weekly program supervision to supervisees. The position is responsible for professional development and performance management. Conducts group supervision in program team meetings and provides training as needed. Provides day to day support to staff for questions, consultation, and other collaborative and supportive efforts Maintains collaboration and communication across team and stakeholders; supports cohesive and seamless participant experience. Manages referrals, checks accuracy of data collection and oversees the program and eligibility requirements. Maintains program budget, technology tracking, and reporting requirements for grant and/or contract funding in collaboration with Director of Peer Support Services. Oversees personal and staff expense reports, ensures expense reports are submitted weekly and completed monthly. Approve staff timecards within the deadline provided. Builds and maintain effective community partner relationships, including referral partner relationships, to support mutual access and awareness of area services Attends all required meetings with county and external community partners in collaboration with Director of Peer Support Services Reviews documentation, IRs, and performance, and provides clear and direct feedback to support best practice with person centered, trauma informed, harm reduction, inclusive, lens. Provides feedback to staff; addresses issues of quality care and/or utilization of services through an organized performance improvement process. Partners with other staff members to address and resolve stakeholder issues and complaints. Maintain a regular, reliable work schedule. Peer Support Duties: May provide direct support to participants as well as coaching and oversight to staff providing same. Assists staff with strategies to fill out the Vision Impact Plan with participants. Ensures staff are providing legal skills training with all participants who wish to participate Ensures each participant has a Vision Impact Plan that identifies the individual’s self-determined goals, as well as specific objectives to carry out these goals. Oversee all incoming referrals to the Polaris and Community Navigator teams, assigning them to staff, and ensuring all referrals are contacted within 5 business days Attends court in Washington County weekly to build relationships with judges, attorneys, WCFT staff, and potential referrals from the Aid & Assist caseload. Will serve as primary point of contact for the Court. Exemplifies recovery principles to show by example that recovery is possible and attainable. Shares own recovery story as appropriate and walks the road of recovery alongside the participant. Coordinates and consults with team members to keep the team informed of issues and progress within program Ensure team’s timely completion of all required paperwork, including documentation of all participant engagement and contractually required data collection within 24-72hours in Credible and MHS 04 Aid and Assist Report Works to increase level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and competency regarding Person Centered and Peer Delivered Services. Educates and advocates for the values and principles of the Recovery Model. Positions Reporting: (Listing of job incumbents reporting into this position) 2-3 Peer Specialists (PSS, PWS, CRM) 1-2 QMHAs Supervision: Receive regular supervision from the Director of Peer Support Services, seeking additional supervision whenever necessary. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and group supervision as required. Other General Expectations: Ability to work as a team member, remain flexible and establish priorities as a group. Ability to participate professionally and collaboratively in interdisciplinary meetings with outside agencies. Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and ability to navigate new computer systems as needed. Maintain Peer Support certification (20 CEUS over a three-year period) Follow all New Narrative policies, procedures, and protocols. Maintain security of all PHI (Private Health Information). Maintain CPR and First Aid Certificate. Must be able to pass a criminal history check through the Department of Human Services, including participating in appeals process if desired. Organizational Awareness: Understands the culture of the organization; interests and concerns of various groups. Demeanor: Remaining calm in a crisis situation, empathetic, unbiased and excellent interpretation skills. Qualifications: QMHA and Traditional Health Worker (THW) [with a Peer Support Certification either PSS, PWS, or CRM] required 1 year of direct support experience in the mental wellness field required, 1 year of direct support experience as a peer specialist preferred. Minimum of one-year supervisory experience required. Lived experience with either mental health, substance use, houselessness, restrictive environments, and/or altered states required. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Must maintain current Oregon or Washington State’s driver’s license as the position requires the ability to drive to support participants.
