Software Engineer - Data Engineering

The squad supports all infrastructure related work in support of CLIENT Workplace Consulting. This includes database and legacy web application migrations to the cloud, the ongoing support associated with these databases and applications, software updates and associated testing, etc. Also – ETL, data integration, data extraction work.

This role is a Software Engineer with a focus on Data Engineering. An expert background in SQL development broadly (stored procedures a must have), with knowledge of the majority of the following platforms: T-SQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL, SQL MI, Snowflake, Oracle. ETL knowledge with a concentration in Informatica Power Center for legacy work, and, Azure Data Factory for go-forward. Python is a huge plus. Experience with Azure and associated cloud services a huge plus i.e Blob Storage, Azure Functions.

This role will focus on projects having to do with migrating legacy databases, applications, and processes from on premise to the cloud. The role positively impacts the organization in terms of meeting cloud migrations mandates / timelines put forth by CLIENT.

You will be working on a fast-paced team passionate about designing, implementing, and maintaining a wide variety of processes, platforms, and products.

Excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required. Extensive experience with Informatica required. Extensive experience with SQL required, with knowledge of MySQL, and Transact SQL preferred (MS SQL Server). Experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM). Experience with cloud database technologies such as Snowflake or Azure SQL Database. Experience with Python or other scripting languages. Experience with API development. Experience with Tableau development. Databricks. Azure Data Factory. AWS Experience.

Proven experience building scalable and robust ETL data flows using a range of technologies. Proven experience building, maintaining, and tuning stored procedures. Strong data analysis skills. Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in fast paced environment. Superb communication skills, both through written and verbal channels.

Proven ability to think out of box and craft end-to-end solutions. Passion and intellectually curiosity to learn new technologies and business areas. Exploring new technology trends and using them to simplify our data ecosystem. Collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver technology solutions for the business needs. Working on teams to improve development agility and efficiency. Delivering system automation by setting up continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
