Job Summary We're seeking a skilled, compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Spring Branch team. You'll work closely with veterinarians to deliver excellent medical care, assist in procedures, provide nursing support, and ensure a positive experience for pets and their owners. This is a great opportunity for a motivated veterinary technician who thrives in a fast-paced, caring environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, dental procedures, and treatments
• Restrain and handle animals safely and compassionately for procedures and exams
• Obtain patient histories, take vital signs, and monitor patients
• Collect samples (blood, urine, etc.) and perform in-house laboratory tests (hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, etc.)
• Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments as directed
• Prepare animals and equipment for surgery; monitor anesthesia and provide post-operative care
• Perform routine prophylactic cleanings
• Perform radiology (X-rays), EKGs, and other diagnostic imaging as needed
• Educate clients on pet care, medications, home treatment, and preventive health
• Maintain clean exam rooms, surgical areas, and equipment; follow infection control protocols
• Assist with client communication, record-keeping, and pharmacy duties
• Provide gentle, low-stress handling to keep pets calm and comfortable
• Support emergency and urgent care when needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certified, Licensed, or Registered Veterinary Technician preferred, but not required; experienced veterinary assistants with strong skills and a great attitude will be considered
• Previous experience in a small animal veterinary hospital (1+ years preferred)
• Solid knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and pharmacology
• Proficiency with restraint techniques, lab work, anesthesia monitoring, and client education
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; compassionate and patient demeanor
• Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes (up to 50+ lbs)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a busy environment
• Passion for animal welfare and client service
