Human Resources Benefits AssistantLHH Recruiting is assisting our client in Scottsdale, AZ to hire a Human Resources Benefits Assistant on a contract basis. The HR Benefits Assistant provides administrative and customer service support for the organization's employee benefits programs. This role assists employees with benefit enrollments, eligibility questions, dependent verification, qualifying life events, and open enrollment activities while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced HR environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdminister day-to-day dependent verification activities, including reviewing supporting documentation, tracking outstanding verifications, communicating requirements and deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.Monitor and respond to employee benefit inquiries received through shared email inboxes, phone calls, and other communication channels, escalating complex issues to the appropriate HR or Benefits team member.Process benefit enrollment transactions and updates, including new hires, dependent changes, qualifying life events, terminations, and other benefit-related requests.Assist employees with benefit eligibility, enrollment processes, plan information, and available wellness, retirement, and insurance programs.Conduct follow-up with employees regarding incomplete enrollments, missing documentation, dependent verification requirements, and benefit election changes.Maintain accurate benefits records through data entry, document imaging, filing, tracking logs, and HRIS updates.Support new hire onboarding activities related to benefits enrollment and employee education.Assist with the annual Open Enrollment process by preparing materials, tracking enrollments, responding to employee questions, and distributing communications.Audit enrollment information and employee records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.Coordinate with Human Resources, Payroll, benefit carriers, and third-party administrators to resolve enrollment discrepancies and employee concerns.Maintain confidentiality of employee information and comply with all privacy and data security requirements.Identify recurring employee concerns or process issues and communicate trends to the Benefits or HR team for review.Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement plans, and wellness programs.Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate benefit information clearly and professionally to employees at all levels.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional email correspondence.Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.Strong attention to detail and ability to review documentation for completeness and compliance.Proficiency with HRIS platforms, benefits administration systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and spreadsheet applications.Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee data.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.Ability to work collaboratively with HR, Payroll, managers, employees, and external vendors.Knowledge of dependent eligibility verification processes and employee benefits administration best practices.Ability to recognize issues requiring escalation and route inquiries to the appropriate team member while ensuring timely employee communication.Education and ExperienceRequiredHigh school diploma or GED required.Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Human Resources, employee benefits administration, HR operations, customer service, or a related field.Experience working with HRIS, payroll, or benefits administration systems.Experience supporting employees or customers in a high-volume service environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hourEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to apply
