The role of Assistant Nurse Manager within our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nights) is critical to delivering high‑quality patient care and leading a dedicated nursing team. Meet or exceed financial goals and objectives of the department. Directly supervise and evaluate patient care provided by unit personnel; conduct daily patient rounds, chart audits and provide coaching. Manage staffing and nursing assignments to meet productivity targets and ensure safe delivery of care. Role model proactive problem solving, collaborate with staff, utilize chain of command, and advocate for patient and staff safety. Provide flexible coverage during staffing crises or shortages. Maintain confidential coaching and counseling records; follow up with accurate reports to Unit Manager and Assistant Manager. Facilitate timely reporting of events through RL Solutions; ensure staff competency in event documentation. Participate in routine and special patient care conferences to improve satisfaction scores and streamline discharge processes. Collect data and maintain performance records; contribute to annual performance reviews. Coordinate self‑scheduling and maintain Kronos records, monitoring for trends requiring intervention. Assume responsibility for inventory control of equipment and supplies. Assist with staff meetings, special projects, and performance‑improvement activities; communicate data and solicit staff input on quality initiatives. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a BSN. Three (3) years of RN experience, preferably in neonatal or critical care. Registered Nurse license (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC). Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) – BNE or current Texas license required. Specialty areas may require additional experience as dictated by unit or standard of care.
