Employees working in Waukesha, WI will enjoy professional growth and community engagement through our regional presence in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.As a Medium‑Voltage Electrical Design Engineer, you will:Design and develop medium‑voltage electrical systems, components, and assembliesProduce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawingsApply engineering principles to support product development, system integration, and manufacturingCollaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure electrical designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirementsUtilize electrical CAD tools to create, modify, and maintain design documentationSupport prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation activitiesProvide technical guidance throughout the design lifecycle, including concept development, design reviews, and release to productionEnsure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and industry best practicesContribute to continuous improvement of electrical design processes, tools, and documentationAssist with resolving engineering change requests and supporting production or field issues related to electrical designWork collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partnersContribute to projects that impact communities in Pewaukee, Brookfield, New Berlin, Sussex, Hartland, Muskego, Menomonee Falls, West Allis, and Wauwatosa and the greater Milwaukee metroApply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovationQUALIFICATIONSExperience designing medium‑voltage electrical systemsProficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPlan, or similar electrical CAD toolsExperience creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawingsUnderstanding of electrical components, power distribution, and system protection principlesAbility to interpret and apply electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirementsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional engineering and manufacturing teamsClear communication skills and strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesFamiliarity with design validation, testing, and documentation practicesExperience with medium‑voltage equipment such as switchgear, transformers, or power distribution assembliesCapable of working independently and as a team memberStrong work ethic and unwavering integrityExcellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindsetCuriosity, problem solving, and analytical thinkingEffective verbal and written communicationDesire to work on a variety of projectsESTIMATED PAY RANGEEngineer I: $40.45–$46.52/hourEngineer II: $44.14–$50.76/hourEngineer III: $47.83–$55.00/hourSenior Engineer: $51.51–$59.24/hourFinal compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations.
