Sleep Medicine Specialist

Bring your expertise in sleep medicine to our team by delivering comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. In this role, you will play a vital part in assessing, diagnosing, treating, and educating patients with suspected sleep conditions under the guidance of a physicianhelping patients achieve better sleep and improved overall health.

Key Position Details:

• .9 FTE (72 hours per two-week pay period)
• 12-hour night shifts
• No weekends

Job Description:

Conducts the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in patients. Responsible for assessments, diagnosis, treatments and education of patients with suspected sleep disorders under the direction of a physician. Principle Responsibilities

• Polysomnographic testing, scoring and follow up
  • Applies electrodes, monitors accordingly, ensures artifact free recordings and documents values for any clinical event during testing.
  • Implements and titrates appropriate therapy per lab protocol.
  • Scores Polysomnograms, downloads/stores data and generates reports prior to follow up appointment.
• Patient education and record management
  • Educate patient on sleep disorders, testing procedures and operation of sleep disorder devices.
  • Verify medical order/protocol, complete all technical paperwork.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and billing procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational or Technical Training in a polysomnography program with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or, equivalent experience with documented proficiency in all required competencies of a Polysomnographic Technologist or, meets Board Registered Polysomnographic (BRPT) standards for a sleep technologist
• 0 to 2 years polysomnography experience
• 0 to 2 years Strong knowledge of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) devices
• 0 to 2 years Able to assess patients, apply critical thinking and determine appropriate interventions

Licenses/Certifications:

• BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BPRT) or credentialed with Sleep Disorders Specialty from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) upon hire required
• Current license in allied health profession if applicable preferred

Pay Range:

$32.92 to $45.12 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
