Quality Inspector

Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description
The Quality Inspector performs detailed visual and functional inspections on electronic products and related processes to ensure they meet defined quality standards. This role conducts incoming, in-process, and final inspections, documents all results accurately, and supports continuous quality improvement within a high-security, clean manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities

• Conduct various product and process inspections on electronic servers and related components, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
• Perform detailed visual inspections on assemblies and production line output to verify conformance to quality specifications.
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs accurately and entering data into the quality database.
• Conduct daily audits in the assigned area to verify that tools are set to proper torque and are correctly calibrated.
• Verify adherence to proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures throughout the inspection process.
• Use company cameras to capture clear and accurate footage of servers before they are transferred to test and repair teams.
• Review and interpret basic schematics and blueprints as needed to support inspection activities.
• Use a combination of computer-based systems and paper-based forms to log inspection results and maintain records.
• Collaborate with team members and follow established workflows to ensure consistent quality control across production.
• Follow verbal and written work instructions precisely and escalate issues or nonconformances to the appropriate personnel.
• Participate in a structured training program and apply learned practices to ongoing inspection tasks.
• Support future New Product Introduction (NPI) quality control activities, including checking products and verifying calibrations and reconfigurations as needed.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of related experience in quality control, quality inspection, final inspection, or a similar manufacturing or production environment.
• Hands-on experience with visual inspection in a production or assembly setting.
• Experience working in assembly, particularly in electronics or similar precision products.
• Basic understanding of electronics and electronic assemblies.
• Ability to read or work with schematics and blueprints at a basic level.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in inspection and documentation.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods during the shift.
• Ability to work safely and confidently on ladders when required.
• Good manual dexterity for handling components and tools with care.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and follow established workflows.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to follow verbal and written directions.
• Comfort using both computer systems and paper-based methods to log and track inspection results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in final inspection roles within manufacturing, electronics, or other quality-focused environments.
• Background in assembly work with exposure to final quality checks or visual inspections.
• Experience with ESD-safe work practices and environments.
• Familiarity with torque tools and basic calibration verification.
• Exposure to working with high-security or controlled-access facilities.
• Experience in industries such as automotive, electronics, or medical devices where visual inspection and precision are critical.
• Willingness to learn server-specific processes and products through structured training.
• Ability to adapt to evolving responsibilities, including future involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) quality control activities.

Work Environment
The role is based in a high-security, clean manufacturing and production environment focused on electronic products and servers. You work primarily on your feet, standing for long periods and occasionally using ladders to access equipment or components. The area can be loud, and ear protection is required as part of standard safety practices. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) controls are in place, and you follow ESD procedures when handling products and components. You use a combination of pen-and-paper documentation and computer systems to log inspection results and maintain records. The facility includes a training center where you complete approximately one week of general training on handling products, followed by 2-3 weeks of station-specific training alongside an experienced team member. Tools include torque tools that require verification and calibration checks, as well as cameras used to document servers before they move to test and repair teams. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to established quality processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
