Job Details:


• Work rotating shifts with multiple shift time options available: 6:45 AM-3:15 PM, 2:45 PM-7:15 PM, and 10:45 PM-7:15 AM
• Schedule options include 3×12-hour shifts, 2×8-hour and 2×12-hour shifts, or 5×8-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation every 4th weekend (Saturday-Sunday)
• Holiday coverage required
• On-call responsibilities dependent on shift and service line; 30-minute response time required with sleeping room available for on-call team members
• 6-week rotation-based schedule; will receive schedule 2-4 weeks ahead with no self-scheduling
• OR operates Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-11:00 PM; skeleton crew after 11:00 PM for trauma and urgent cases only
• Saturday-Sunday 7:00 AM-5:00 PM; skeleton crew after 5:00 PM for trauma and urgent cases only
• Minimum 2-3 years of acute care experience required
• Must be able to scrub and circulate adult or pediatric open-heart cases
• Critical care experience required; Level I trauma experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required certification: BLS
• Experience with GSW, stabbings, transplants (kidney, hearts), donor cases, general surgery, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, ortho, neuro, and open hearts/CABGs
• Approximately 60-75 cases per day across the department
• 20% pediatric cases including open hearts, appendectomies, and cholecystectomies
• No floating to other units
• Equipment used includes EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Scrubs are provided

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital with 794 beds, recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The surgical department includes 28 operating rooms, featuring 2 hybrid rooms for cardiovascular and vascular procedures. The department operates 24/7, 365 days a year and is supported by charge nurses, anesthesiologists, resource nurses, educators, service line representatives, and EPIC super-users. The facility handles a wide range of complex cases including transplants, trauma, robotics, and cardiovascular surgery, and participates in Gifts of Hope donor cases.
