Greenville, OH| Full-Time | Exempt Jones & Company CPAs is seeking an experienced StaffAccountant to join our Tax Services team in Greenville, Ohio. What You’ll Do: In this role, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality tax and accounting services while building technical expertise and strong client relationships. Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and non-profit entities Assist with accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation Support audit, review, and compilation engagements as assigned Research tax regulations and accounting guidance to support compliance and planning Identify potential tax savings opportunities and compliance risks for supervisor review Communicate with clients to gather information and respond to routine inquiries Maintain accurate workpapers and ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and firm policies Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards Contribute to process improvements and efficient workflows What We’re Looking For: CPA license or actively pursuing CPA (preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 2–4 years of public accounting experience or relevant tax/accounting experience Working knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and accounting principles Experience with tax and accounting software such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, GoSystem, BNA, or similar platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and professionalism Nice to Have: Experience in a public accounting firm environment Exposure to audit and assurance engagements Experience working directly with small business clients Progress toward CPA licensure Compensation & Benefits: Compensation: $55,000 – $80,000 annually, based on experience level and relevant public accounting background. Entry-level candidates or recent graduates may start closer to $55,000, while candidates with a few years of experience may fall toward the upper end of the range.
