Lab Assistant - Full Time- 1st Shift

Labcorp is seeking a Lab As sistan t to join our team in Houston, TX.

Schedule: 1st Shift, Tuesday-Saturday 8am-4:30pm and overtime as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive and sort clinical lab spe ci men s

• Prepare spe ci men s for testing and analysis 

• Scan and/or data entry of spe ci men and patient information

• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance 

• Troubleshoot any spe ci men related issues

• Replenish test bench supplies as needed

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested

• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent 

Preferred Qualification :

• Cu rrent or prior Labcorp experience

• 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital

• 1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment

• 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological spe ci men s 

• Ability to ac cu rately identify spe ci men s 

• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills 

• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
