HEALTH DATA ANALYST Full‑time Career Service Position in the Florida Department of Health. Responsibilities This professional position is responsible for facilitating organizational studies and evaluations, work simplifications, and measurement studies. The analyst provides technical assistance and assists in the development of operations and procedures for the Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU). Responsibilities include: Maintaining project files and documenting protocols, procedures related to data access, collection, analysis/sharing, and quality‑assurance procedures. Compiling data, generating, and distributing regular reports to internal units and leadership. Gathering and organizing information on programs, services, forms, or reports, and consulting with management to identify problems and improvements. Providing technical assistance, analyzing information, and creating reports and/or other written products. Reviewing and archiving documents and ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and court orders. Preparing manuals and conducting training on new forms, reports, procedures, or equipment. Performing other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, rules of composition, and grammar. Effective written and oral communication with others; active listening and question‑asking. Understanding of written sentences and paragraphs. Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, and government rules & regulations. Knowledge of office procedures and practices. Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports. Knowledge of quality‑assurance principles and practices. Knowledge of methods for data collection and analysis. Ability to gather, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, and document workflow. Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports and other written materials. Problem‑solving and independent work skills. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of the compliance management system and licensing system used by the Agency. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following minimum requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Three (3) or more years of professional proficiency with Microsoft Office/Office 365, Adobe, and similar office programs. Three (3) or more years of background in reviewing files and/or documents, making comparisons to an established standard, and identifying errors. College education can substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Preferred Candidates Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, interpret, and apply written instructions, policies, and procedures. Ability to proofread and edit for proper grammar, spelling, and context, and provide feedback to management. Ability to prepare clear, accurate correspondence and reports. Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data to support decision‑making. Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills; able to work independently.
