Presort Associate1 – Omaha, NE – $17.00per hour (plus $2.00per hour for 3rd shift). Join Pitney Bowes as a Direct Hire Full‑Time Presort Associate. Responsibilities Prepare outgoing permit and metered mail by reviewing date, postage, and barcode quality before production. Communicate errors and recognize bad barcodes found in mail or packages. Troubleshoot and remove mail piece jams from machine. Monitor the quality of mail or packages prior to processing and before dispatching. Understand USPS zip‑code labels and match bin numbers on machines to tray numbers. Follow QMS practices and policies to assure quality of output, double checking date, weight, thickness, barcodes, presort slug, indicia, postage rate, and class of mail. Understand USPS labels and preparation requirements for stacking and preparing sorted mail. Ensure sorter equipment and other equipment used to run and prepare mail are functioning properly. Assist with inbound and outbound processing of mail or packages. Remain informed of acceptance times and when trucks must leave. Ensure mail or packages are prepared to meet SLAs. Promote a clean work area to prevent injuries and tripping hazards. Perform all additional duties as required. Qualifications Dependable and reliable. Knowledge of the pre‑sort mailing business is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Strong customer service skills. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time. Basic English reading and comprehension for safety and operational directions. Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts with little notice. Current work experience at Pitney Bowes as a Warehouse Mail Sorter.
