Human Resources Assistant

Anderson Trucking Service (ATS) is hiring a Human Resources Assistant in Jacksonville, Florida to provide day-to-day HR administration and employee support in an in-office (not remote) setting. This position supports HR compliance, talent acquisition activities, organizational development, and employee services. Key Responsibilities Process employee transactions, including hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations . Maintain employee records and ensure accurate HR data entry. Manage personnel file workflows, including document retention , scanning, indexing, and quality control. Assist with employment verifications , personnel file requests, security badge administration, and other employee requests. Maintain organizational charts and HR procedures. Coordinate leave of absence and accommodation processes, including FMLA and ADA requests. Support I-9 administration and other compliance-related recordkeeping. Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews. Coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including orientation sessions , building tours, and employment documentation. Prepare and maintain onboarding materials and supplies. Support employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs , appreciation events, retirements, and company-sponsored activities. Assist with special projects that support ATS culture and employee development. Required Qualifications Associate's degree , bachelor's degree , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of Human Resources, administrative, or office support experience (preferred). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus business software systems. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to complete responsibilities outside of normal business hours as needed; infrequent travel may be required. Technology Microsoft Office Word Excel Outlook Compensation and Expected Schedule The anticipated hourly pay range for this position begins at $23.00 to $28.00 per hour . The hourly pay rate offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location compared to others performing substantially similar work. Expected hours: 40.0 per week.
