Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic echocardiographic procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical expertise, exceptional patient care skills, and a commitment to delivering accurate diagnostic results in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

What will you do:

• Perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms and related cardiac ultrasound procedures.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• Assess cardiac anatomy, function, and hemodynamics using ultrasound technology.
• Accurately document findings and ensure complete patient records.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and report any operational concerns.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Provide compassionate care and education to patients and families.
• Adhere to departmental, hospital, and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI required within designated timeframe per facility policy.
• Knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
