Job Type Full-time Laboratory Technician We’re seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to prepare and analyze solid and semi‑solid environmental samples, including soil, sludge, and sediment, within our fast‑paced environmental testing laboratory in Conroe, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for a laboratory professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment and enjoys hands‑on analytical testing, sample preparation, and producing accurate, high‑quality data in support of environmental compliance and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and motivated by supporting daily laboratory operations, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts within a collaborative team environment. What You’ll Do Perform sample preparation, extractions, digestions, and analytical testing of environmental samples Prepare solid and semi‑solid matrices for analysis, including soil, sludge, sediment, and related environmental samples Perform routine laboratory calculations, documentation, and data review activities Review, validate, and document analytical data within LIMS and escalate discrepancies or abnormal findings as needed Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established procedures Support laboratory quality systems, QA/QC programs, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain organized, accurate, and compliant laboratory records and documentation Collaborate with laboratory staff to meet turnaround times, productivity goals, and client expectations Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related scientific discipline; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Demonstrated hands‑on analytical laboratory experience, preferably within an environmental testing laboratory Prior hands‑on experience with laboratory instrumentation preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with LIMS systems is a plus, but not required What We Offer Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Employer‑paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays Paid parental leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Work Schedule Full‑time, onsite position Flexibility to work beyond standard hours as operational needs require Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
