Role Description The Grants Management Specialist is a contract role responsible for supporting end‑to‑end federal grants lifecycle activities, including application review, awards processing, monitoring, and closeout. This hybrid position is based in Washington, DC, with flexibility for some work from home. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include reviewing grant applications for completeness and compliance, analyzing budgets and financial documentation, and preparing summaries and recommendations in alignment with federal regulations and agency policies. The specialist will track grant performance and expenditures, maintain accurate records in grants management systems, and support audits, reporting, and data calls. The role will also collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues, provide guidance on grant requirements, and contribute to process improvements and best practices in grants administration. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in Federal Grants Management and Grant Administration, including pre‑award, post‑award, and closeout activities. Strong Analytical Skills with the ability to interpret regulations, evaluate proposals, and assess programmatic and financial performance. Proficiency in Finance and Budgeting, including reviewing grant budgets, monitoring expenditures, and supporting financial reporting and compliance. Familiarity with federal grants regulations, policies, and systems (e.g., Uniform Guidance, Grants.gov, SAM.gov) is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation, reports, and correspondence. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders.
