Class A Driver

Job Overview Accelerate business value by delivering ice to customers in articulated vehicles (tractor‑trailers) that require a CDL Class A license. Drivers are assigned a delivery route or transport truckloads of ice to designated customer locations. The delivery region, route, and type of equipment operated may change based on business needs. Applicants must be registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. Duties & Responsibilities Operate and maintain a clean company truck in a safe and professional manner. Unload, deliver, and rotate ice at customer locations using a safe, courteous, and service‑oriented approach. Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, comply with state and federal hours of service requirements, and operate the vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations. Participate daily in the Daily Visual Management (DVM) process; review DVM results with other drivers. Produce invoices for each delivery and complete all required paperwork. Maintain the safe operation, working condition, and inventory of all driver tools, including handhelds, printers, handcarts, and handtrucks. Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity. Pick up equipment as directed and perform other operational duties as assigned by management. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and processes and adhere to the Code of Business Ethics. Maintain high safety standards and comply with all corporate policies and procedures. Directly responsible for property, funds, and information. Essential Mental Functions & Skills Read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Work in a state of alertness and safe manner, remaining unfatigued. Accurately gauge lengths of time and distance. Store and recall instructions in short‑term memory. Concentrate and perform tasks requiring high levels of cognitive function and judgment. Cope with sudden changes in surroundings, emergency situations, or alarms. Demonstrate a caring, committed, and safety‑concerned attitude. Possess fast reflexes, unimpaired coordination, and ability to respond rapidly. Not mentally or physically impaired by any condition affecting safe performance. Take prompt and appropriate actions as operating conditions require. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Three years of previous route delivery driver experience preferred. Minimum one year driving experience in a similar vehicle required. Clean driving record. Basic math skills and exceptional customer‑relations skills. Valid CDL Class A license. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Drive in stressful environments and all weather conditions. Unload, load, and rotate product in merchandise areas. Lift up to 40 lbs throughout the day. Metrics 10 pallets per truck. 1 pallet = 16 bags of 7 lb. 320 bags per day (2,100 bags per 5‑day week) = 21,000 lbs per day (10.5 tons). Weekly: 10.5 tons daily × 5 days = 52.5 tons.
