Tax Manager

Our client is a privately held, $1B+ organization in the Seattle area, growing both organically and through acquisitions. They’re looking for a Tax Manager to join a strong, collaborative tax team. This is a leadership role: you’ll manage a team of 4 and report to the Tax Director, with a clear path to Senior Manager in the near term.

The tax function supports a complex business with domestic and international operations. The team values collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement, and wants someone who is excited to grow with the company.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 tax professionals, reviewing their work and building their technical skills
• Oversee federal, state, and international income tax compliance, including corporate (1120), partnership (1065), and foreign reporting (5471) filings
• Own supporting workpapers for tax calculations, tax basis balance sheets, partnership capital accounts, and fixed asset reconciliations
• Manage quarterly estimates and extensions
• Partner with the Tax Director on federal and state audits, state notices, and property tax audits
• Contribute to the year-end tax provision and financial reporting process
• Oversee other compliance areas, such as property tax, withholding, FBAR, business licenses, and gross receipts and indirect tax filings
• Conduct tax research, document positions, and support tax planning initiatives
• Improve processes, controls, reporting templates, and automation as the business scales, including integrating newly acquired entities

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation preferred
• 5+ years of income tax experience, with solid knowledge of federal and state corporate and partnership taxation
• Experience leading and developing a team of 2 or more
• Strong analytical, organizational, and data-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach across teams
