Behavioral Technician

Behavioral Technician job typically involves implementing and documenting behavior support plans. This includes collecting data, providing direct client care, and assisting with skill development. Responsibilities often include implementing treatments, providing crisis intervention, and participating in staff training. Maintaining professional communication with supervisors and clients is essential.

Responsibilities also include:

• Carry out behavior intervention and skill acquisition plans as directed by a supervisor, using principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Observe, record, and report on client behavior and progress, while maintaining daily records.
• Provide direct support, which may include assisting with daily living activities, in a safe and supportive environment.
• Be prepared to respond to and manage client crises.
• Communicate professionally with management, supervisors, and other team members, including behavior analysts and parents.
• Participate in ongoing training to improve skills and maintain certifications.

This position involves working with a 12-year-old male student in a classroom setting with grade levels 3-6. The student has difficulties on the bus, which may be related to at-home issues. A behavior intervention plan will be reviewed by the Supervising Director. The student is known to be an excellent escape artist and wears a seat belt during bus travel.
