Agency: Office of the Attorney General Locations: Orlando or Tampa, Florida Pay: $60,935.16 annually Position Summary This Audit Evaluation & Review Analyst works within the Office of the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, auditing complex multi‑million‑dollar healthcare fraud investigations that can result in criminal and/or civil litigation. The role requires professional auditing or financial analysis experience and the ability to exercise discretion and judgment when applying federal and state Medicaid rules, regulations, and laws. Qualifications Six years of professional auditing or financial analysis experience; or A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and at least two years of the required experience; or A master’s or advanced degree in accounting, finance, business, or related area and one year of the required experience; or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) license, which substitutes for one year of experience. Responsibilities Use professional judgment regarding Medicaid laws; review resident trust accounts; guide Medicaid analysts; conduct random sampling in accordance with HHS‑OIG standards; calculate Medicaid overpayments and exploitation losses; provide financial interpretation and guidance to Assistants Attorneys General, Lead Investigators, and Medical Investigators. Serve as lead investigator on cases involving suspected Cost Report Fraud and Prospective Payment System Medicaid provider fraud, including nursing homes, hospitals, and intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Gather or assist in gathering financial evidence; perform audits, examinations, and reviews of financial evidence in accordance with the Agency’s and the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit’s standard operating procedures, GAAP, GAAS, and other applicable standards. Provide complex link analysis and interpretation of bank and credit card statements, IRS tax returns, target assets subject to seizure, and financial records such as general ledgers, trial balances, income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow.
