Posted Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 4:00 AM Position Title: J3 Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician (CCF) Location: Columbus, MS Pay Rate $49.19/hour Category/Shift Hourly Full-Time / Our maintenance technicians generally work a four day 10-hour schedule…Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm with every fourth Friday scheduled as an 8-hour day (7:00am-3:30pm). About The Role This position supports International Paper’s Columbus Cellulose Fibers (CCF) facility, located in Columbus, Mississippi. CCF is a vital part of IP’s Global Cellulose Fibers Business. This is a J3 level Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician position responsible for completing scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties, both as part of a team and independently. Duties include, but are not restricted to, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining 575V thru 2300V motor controls, 13.8kV electrical systems, relay logic, PLC systems, DCS and a variety of field instruments, analytical equipment, and final control elements. Position Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand‑alone process drives of various manufactures Troubleshoot, configure, maintain DCS systems such as Delta V and Honeywell. Install, troubleshoot, maintain 575V through 2300V motors including induction, synchronous, wound rotor, permanent magnet and DC Installation, calibration, troubleshooting various manufactures of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment Install, troubleshoot, maintain motor controls including electronic motor protection relays, sizing overloads, and starter maintenance of various manufactures. Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid operated valves, calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners. Install, troubleshoot, maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photo electric, speed and reflective switches. Install, program, troubleshoot and maintain PLC systems including associated communication such as DH+, mod_bus, Ethernet. Read, interpret and redline wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, P&ID’s and loop sheets Understand and follow 70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards. Communicate with operators while troubleshooting electrical and instrument controls Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on routine and extended annual outages Maintain shops, load centers, DCS work areas to a 5S standard Other duties as assigned. Skilled in maintenance and troubleshooting of E&I related equipment and process problems Knowledge of key operating areas, PLCs AC & DC drives, analog and digital field instrumentation, and DCS equipment. Preferred Two year Associate Degree in any of the IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines (Instrumentation or Electrical).
