Packer Job Description Job Title: Packer Department: Re-pack Reports To: Material Manager Pay: $10 Hour Summary: Responsible for unpacking imports or special orders requested by customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: You receive work orders and make sure that you gather all materials needed, such as boxes, labels, etc. Produce daily repack production reports. Management reserves the right to change or modify the functions of this job as required to meet the organization's needs. Therefore, other duties may be assigned. Ensures the work area is kept in a safe and orderly manner. Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for any temporary help hired through an agency or any other help from other departments. Operational and Communication: Pack or repack orders from schedulers. Organize and prioritize the workload. Employees will have daily finished goods and raw material requests. Regulatory/Health and Safety: Ensures the work area is kept in a safe and orderly manner. Technology: None. Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of company and safety rules and procedures. Knowledge of products and customer base. Effective interpersonal skills. Practical written and oral communication skills. Ability to set priorities, process, and compile data.
