Position Summary

Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer – Mission Critical to support large-scale construction and infrastructure projects in high-demand environments such as data centers, manufacturing, and clean energy. This role offers hands-on involvement in engineering coordination, field operations, BIM, scheduling, procurement, and cost control for multimillion-dollar projects focused on speed-to-market delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with day-to-day execution and project administration

• Develop, track, and manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, and change orders

• Participate in internal and external project meetings (kickoffs, BIM coordination, scheduling, etc.)

• Perform material takeoffs and assist in estimating and bid preparation

• Coordinate subcontractor/vendor quotes and contribute to purchasing decisions

• Support installation progress tracking, quality control, and resolution of field challenges

• Assist with project billing, invoicing, and forecasting labor or material costs

• Participate in job closeout: commissioning, as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties

• Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents for field execution

• Provide input on value engineering and constructability improvements

• Foster strong communication and collaboration across internal departments (engineering, fabrication, purchasing, accounting, field operations)

• Build strong external relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related field (preferred)

• 1–4 years of relevant experience in project engineering, MEP coordination, or construction support

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

• Familiarity with industry tools/software such as Bluebeam, Smartsheet, BidTracer, Box, FastEst, JDE, or IFS (preferred)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and take initiative

• Willingness to occasionally visit project sites as needed

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, with frequent use of a computer and participation in project walks

Schedule
