Maintenance Technician

Title: Maintenance Technician – Pay: $30/hr – Location: Cowpens, SC – Shift: 1st Shift – Start Date: Immediate – Job Type: Contract A Maintenance Support Technician position is available with a service client in Gaffney, SC. This role will involve day‑to‑day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance on material handling equipment at a specific site location. Shift schedule: 7:00 am–7:00 pm, alternating between 3–12 hour shifts and 4–12 hour shifts on a weekly basis. Responsibilities Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, and component lubrication. Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures. Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry. Create and close work orders in the asset management system, recording labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used. Troubleshoot semi‑complex problems and determine the resources needed to resolve them. Locate and track spare parts in inventory. Perform routine maintenance and equipment testing to ensure items meet required standards. Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults. Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them. Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or vocational technical training preferred; specialized skill training or certifications preferred. Electrical troubleshooting skills, including wiring, AC power, AC motors, electrical drawings/schematics, and control panels. Mechanical experience with gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers, etc. Knowledge of servo drives, PLCs, PC controllers, DC power supplies, and optical devices (encoders, photo‑eyes, etc.). Knowledge of conveying systems and MS Office products. Ability to evaluate and analyze semi‑complex system/equipment performance data, perform root‑cause analysis, and recommend resolution of design‑performance issues.
