Senior Accountant

Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger (GL), performing month‑end close activities and preparing financial reports. The role requires accuracy, strong analytical skills, proactive communication, and bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) for vendor and client communication. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Closing: Perform full‑cycle accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close activities. Journal Entries & Reconciliations: Prepare and review complex journal entries and perform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations. Bilingual Communication: Act as the liaison with Spanish‑speaking internal teams to clarify accounting issues and financial data. Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee high‑volume AP/AR, ensure accurate vendor payments, and manage invoicing. Compliance & Tax: Ensure compliance with GAAP and assist with tax filing (1099s, CA tax regulations). Analysis & Reporting: Perform variance analysis, prepare financial statements, and provide data‑driven insights to senior leadership. Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and maintain internal control procedures. Supervision: Mentor or review the work of junior accounting staff. Qualifications Languages: Professional working proficiency in Spanish sufficient to communicate with Mexico‑based teams. Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field. Experience: 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior or lead role. Software Proficiency: Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Sage). Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of GAAP; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus. Experience using AI and APIs to improve processes is a plus.
