Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health / Mental Health
Job Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Pay: $28.90 – $41.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $8,000 – $12,000
Shift: Multiple Full-Time Day, Evening & Night Shifts Available

Position Overview

A leading behavioral health organization in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RN) to provide high-quality psychiatric and mental health care across youth, adult, and older adult inpatient units. RNs will assess patients, develop care plans, administer treatments, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.

Available Shifts

• Youth Units: Full-Time Evenings & Nights (32–36 hrs/week)
• High Acuity Adult Units: Full-Time Days, Evenings & Nights
• Older Adult Units: Full-Time Evenings & Nights

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and medical records.
• Monitor patient safety and respond to behavioral health emergencies.
• Delegate tasks and provide leadership to nursing support staff.
• Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.
• Follow organizational policies, nursing standards, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License (Required)
• BSN preferred
• Psychiatric or Emergency Department experience preferred
• New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work with behavioral health and mental health patients
• Michigan driver's license may be required for certain units

Shift Differentials

• Weekend Days: +$1.25/hour
• Evenings: +$2.00–$3.00/hour
• Nights: +$4.00–$5.00/hour
