Description

American Traveler is seeking an ER RN for a night shift travel position rotating between offsite clinics, requiring an active IL RN license and Epic experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Position rotates between three offsite clinic locations
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic charting system experience required
• 8-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in managing pediatric and adult emergency cases including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and psychiatric conditions
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and splint application/orthopedic trauma care
• Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Current Nursys report required (pulled within the last 2 weeks)

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a rotating schedule between three clinic locations in the surrounding area
• Manage a broad range of emergency presentations including trauma, gunshot wounds, mental/behavioral health crises, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Responsible for identifying and reporting suspected neglect or abuse
• RTO limited to no more than 3 days total, with no time off requested during the first or last week of the contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former employees of this health system must have a 7-month separation before returning as a traveler
• Non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) required during onboarding
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
