Maintenance Mechanic A

ADUSA Distribution is the distribution company of Ahold Delhaize USA, providing distribution services to one of the largest grocery retail supply chains in the nation. ADUSA Distribution receives, stores, manages inventory, and ships fresh and non-perishable product throughout the network of local brand stores. ADUSA Distribution facilities handle a mix of product types, including fresh, frozen, grocery and health and beauty care items. Our team is supporting the supply chain network evolution to an integrated self-distribution model of the future, serving leading omnichannel grocery brands - Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford and Stop & Shop.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

As our Maintenance Mechanic A, you will perform maintenance tasks and work orders on all assigned facilities and equipment both inside and outside the facility. You will complete facilities and equipment repairs reflecting substantial variety and complexity based on expected proficiencies established through the Facilities Maintenance Structure and Program. As Mechanic A, you should possess elevated skills in a minimum of one of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, material handling, and welding.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all equipment and facilities are operating effectively and efficiently in order to support all operations. Make sure all equipment meets standards, codes and regulatory requirements.

Carry out duties in a productive manner and learn skills available through training and job shadowing. Training will be offered and is necessary to move from various levels as well as a demonstrated ability to perform the work at current level based on assessment by manager.

Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout work shift and use to investigate and identify repeat repairs and previous work performed on that equipment

Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems as necessary

Be proficient in performing preventative and predictive maintenance with little or no assistance

Able to safely shut down systems and equipment and meets all standards, codes, and regulatory requirements

Able to trouble shoot and perform repairs on complex systems and equipment

Meet evaluation standards on work orders and observations by management to assess and evaluate skill level and proficiency within maintenance department

Able to provide guidance and training to Mechanic B level individuals and support associates

Remain proficient in maintenance trade as required and stay current with today's technology as required and offered by training courses/classes

Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs

Ensure compliance with company standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity

Perform work at elevated levels in areas of safety, electrical, electronics, refrigeration, material handling, mechanical, welding, fire systems, and domestic water/waste water (where applicable)

Follow good sanitation practices; keep work area clean and free of debris

QUALIFICATIONS

High school education or equivalent

Mechanical and electrical aptitude

Successful completion of assessment evaluation to demonstrate experience and proficiency in areas or tasks assigned

Good communication, verbal and written skills

Dexterity with both hands

Knowledge and understanding of schematic / blueprint documents

Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 80 lbs.

Ability to communicate and complete required record keeping functions

Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision

Ability to work in a -5 degree to 90+ degree Fahrenheit environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time

Able to perform work in difficult body positions and environmental conditions from time to time

Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks)

Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers

Able to work in a team environment

Able to gain knowledge and learn more complex tasks as experience is gained over time

Able to supply own tools to complete required work

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Be able to provide guidance / coordination with the operation and maintenance staff

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Prior experience in mechanical areas

Certified on powered industrial equipment where applicable

Familiarity/experience in maintenance environment

The individual will need to show elevated experience, expertise, and proficiency in the following essential functions to be hired or hold a Mechanic A level position in one or more of the following areas based on assessment by manager: Safety, Electrical, Refrigeration, Material Handling, Mechanical, Welding, Fire Systems, Domestic Water/Waste Water.

Salary is $31.00 Hrly
