Job Title: Welder-Fitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder-Fitter to join our team. This role involves pipe fitting duties that include cutting, prepping, layout, and fitting of various pipes, fittings, equipment, and materials, ensuring all work complies with company procedures and code requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, sketches, and specifications related to piping, vessels, and custom components.

• Perform pipe fitting duties such as cutting, prepping, layout, and fitting of all types of pipes and materials.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Communicate technical specifications to welders and helpers.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding.
• Assemble parts through bolting and riveting.
• Complete weld maps as required.
• Fabricate threaded piping systems.
• Conduct various testing on equipment and piping systems, including steam, hydro, and pneumatic testing.
• Deliver x-ray quality welds on pipe, plate, tanks, and structural steel using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding operations.

• Minimum of five years of welding and fitting experience.
• Five years of journey-level pipe welding and fitting experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

• Understanding of welder qualification records and code qualification limits.
• Knowledge of code procedures for material handling and fabrication.
• Proficient in operating cranes, forklifts, and rigging.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Capability to be fit tested and wear a respirator during certain welding operations.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

This role operates in a manufacturing and fabrication environment, utilizing a variety of welding techniques and equipment. The work involves handling materials and operating machinery such as cranes and forklifts. Be prepared to wear appropriate safety gear, including respirators during specific operations. Flexibility to work overtime as needed is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, WA.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
